Term 3
In Forest school this term we have played games - "I'm not a stick, I'm a ......" and "guess the animal poo!"
Children have had the opportunity to develop tool skills, using loopers, secateurs, saws, hammers and Year 6 have started to whittle using a knife.
Year 5 mastered lighting a Kelly kettle and boiling water for a hot chocolate. All children enjoyed the snow and various ice formations. Year 6 tried two ways of measuring the height of a tree, through their legs and then we made clinometers. Both ways were quite accurate!
As a school we took part in the RSPB big bird watch and made bird feeders for the birds in Forest School.
Some of the younger children helped to cut and plant more willow to improve our willow tunnel.
KS2 took part in a hibernation experiment to see who could build the cosiest nest and keep their hot water the warmest for the longest.
