Term 1
What a wonderful start to the year in Forest School! Alongside our usual activities of bug hunting, den building, braiding, and climbing the children have also enjoyed creating their own obstacle courses, building mini-bug hotels (with their own gyms!), designing conker runs, hapa zome, created music, built castles and made mini-rafts.
Molly was the subject of a charcoal paint portrait and the children also used their imaginations with leaf rubbings and oil pastels to recreate some autumn colours.
Autumn has provided a wealth of conkers from which we have made conker soap, animals and many other creations.
KS2 were challenged to problem solve and work as a team in their golf gutter game. Our new quiet area has been popular where children can sit and chat quietly with a friend or just 'be'.
Year 3 re-created stone henge to enhance their learning in the classroom. Year R had an introductory visit to Forest School and found lots of autumn colours. Year 1 and 2 made natural faces showing their emotions.
To celebrate the end of a wonderful term, classes enjoyed a toasted marshmallow and year 6 loved their campfire doughnuts. Thank you to year 6 for brilliantly sawing so much wood to enable us to have the fires.
Finally each class have been using pieces of nature to create a collaborative work of art inspired by James Brunt. Our resident squirrels have also enjoyed it and taken all of the acorns!
