First we took part in a royal parade and had to introduce ourselves as King or Queen followed by our name. We then watched Queen Elizabeth II coronation and then took part in some role-play afterwards to re-enact this. We also learnt a royal king and queen dance that we performed. Throughout the day we learnt more about the monarchs and discussed the symbols of monarchy including the orb and spectre. We finished the day by creating a factfile on Henry VIII and by eating the sponge cakes that we made in the morning at our royal banquet.  Well done year 1 on a super day of learning!
