Pupil Premium
What is Pupil Premium?
The Pupil Premium is a sum of money given to schools each year by the Government to improve the attainment of disadvantaged children. It is intended to directly benefit the children who are eligible, helping to narrow the gap in educational progress, attainment and opportunities between them and their peers. The Government believe this is the best way of tackling inequalities between disadvantaged pupils and their peers. The goal is that we are “consistently improving the outcomes, especially for disadvantaged pupils” (Ofsted).
Pupil Premium is allocated to pupils who are:
-
currently registered for free school meals (FSM), or who have received free school meals at any time in the last six years (Ever 6). The funding for these children is £1,455 per year.
-
looked after by the local authority (LAC) or who have been adopted (post-LAC). The funding for these children is £2,530 year.
-
children of parents who are service personnel. The funding for these children is £320 per year.
At Hildenborough CE Primary School, approximately 10.25% of our current intake receive Pupil Premium Funding.
