Ancient Egyptian Day
Year 3 and 4 welcomed visitors from Shipbourne
School and Stocks Green School to take part in our
Ancient Egyptian workshops this week. They all had a
great time sharing their knowledge and understanding
of Ancient Egypt.
The Ancient Egyptians
Year 4 amazed us with their knowledge about the Ancient Egyptians in their Act of Worship today.
They described the artefacts they made on the street of the dead, and had two mini workshops set up, with volunteers making soapstone scarab beetles and canonic jars.
We enjoyed their Golden Pyramid Quiz, but were saddened when we heard what the crocodiles had devoured. The brave soldiers, led by General Ai were not able to rescue anyone this time.
Thank you to Queen Nefertiti for your presence and judging the artefacts. And a massive well done to all for your super singing about the Amazing Egyptians!
As part of their project, ‘How can art help to build a community?’, Year 3 and 4 visited High Hilden residential home. The children got to know the residents and together created poppies and prayers relating to Remembrance Day.
This week the whole school made and planted a Poppy to commemorate Remembrance Sunday.
We have begun learning how to play the Ukulele in Year 4.
