Year 1 Term 1
Act of Worship – 11th February 2016
Year 1 led our Act of Worship this morning. This term in RE they have been looking at the story of David and Goliath. They acted out the story of how David, a small shepherd boy stood up to Goliath.
David was given heavy armour to protect him but he took it off because he trusted that God would keep him safe. He went to a stream and found five smooth stones and put them in a pouch around his waist and with his sling he went to Goliath.
Goliath laughed at David.
David put a stone in his slingshot. The stone hit Goliath right in the middle of his head. David put complete faith and trust in God.
In art they made a shield and drew pictures about being brave.
They have also been learning about China and told us some of the facts they had found out.
