PE and sport premium for primary schools

At Hildenborough CEP School we recognise the contribution of PE to the health and well-being of the children. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all our children. As a Church of England school, we believe that the skills and attitudes the children learn through sport strongly promote and reflect our Christian values, supporting the children’s health and happiness.
What is the Sports Premium?
The government is continuing to provide PE and sports funding for the academic year 2015-16. Each school will receive £8,000 plus an extra £5 per pupil each year. At Hildenborough, this means an extra £8885 a year. This money can only be spent on improving the quality of sport and PE. This Sport’s Funding will enable us to continue and extend our provision through continually improving the quality of teaching and learning, employing additional sports professionals, as well as entering into and preparing individuals and teams for a wide range of competitive sports competitions.
